Olympics 2008: Beijing National Stadium (Bird's Nest)

tips1:don’t bring any lighter or fruit knife with you when you going to go inside of Nest, otherwise you can never get them back. because if you bring something like that have to leave them at the entrance, and you cannot even walk close to the entrance again after you through it. i lost my favorite lighter that way…

tips2:there is only one north side gate open for entrance (Gate L) , and only one gate(Gate B) to exit which is on the southwest side.

tips3:even there are over 6 windows to sell the tickets at the same time, you still have to wait at least 10mins, so many people…

Worth visiting!

P.R.C.

I and my two children visited this fascinating city during the Summer 2004. We did quite well, but there is so much more to return for—we were there for only a week! The pix and a detailed story can be found at my website: www.juanitohayburg.com
Please visit. I welcome all feedback. Thanks!

What I want to do at this place

Compete in the Olympics, bei bei! heheheheh!

...tho now it’s a bit late to start trying out. USAboxing and sailing have already chosen their teams. Arhcery is almost out of the question… so I guess I should stick with basketball, judo, or wrestling, whose qualifiers are in the spring next year… huh huh… harh harh…

working on the volunteer committee

i have signed up for the volunteer committee with the chinese olympics association so in the summer of 2008, i’ll be working alongside of thousands of other volunteers, athletes. i am quite excited to begin this, and from the pictures i have seen from the official websites, it will be ridicuously extravegant and upscale. so if you have the chance to visit, DO!
even better, try to become part of the volunteer team and help out in the olympic spirit.

hope to see you there.

Beijing Repair and Restore

When I was in Beijing at the end of 2005, they were doing lots of restoration work on all of the major attractions. I heard that they were also working on repairs for the roads, sewer systems, electrical, and water.

The whole city was getting an overhaul!

I wonder what it looks like now!??! I’ll bet it’s great.
