A question about this place:
I am going to be in Berlin hopefully for a few days during a Kyiv - Paris train adventure.. I know I'd like to stay at Propeller Island for one night ,but for the rest can anyone recommend a hostel?

The Circus on Weinbergsweh. Affordable, close to the centre of the city and quite hip. Certainly helped my experience of Berlin anyway. :)

I stayed at both hostels mentioned so far and both are excellent. German hostels are great. It has been my experience they are always clean and in a good neighborhood. Enjoy Berlin!

I prefer the Transit-Loft in prenzlauerberg. http://www.transit-loft.de/ I’ve stayed there a few times, and I used to live near it. It’s in a wonderful neighborhood and right off the tram from Alex.

Have fun, Berlin is wonderful.

For a hostel in Berlin, Baxpax is superior.

AH! I heard of this when I was in Amsterdam. My hostel had flyers for it. Thank you!

I actually stayed at 3 different hostels in Berlin. The Generator was awesome. Very different, but fun. Good prices and well secured.

Helter Skelter was cool but. Good people, but very unsafe. I couldn’t believe I made it out of there without something missing.

I would definitely recommend EastSeven. Very chill, laid back. The guys working there only charged 4 euro for launrdy, the espresso was killer, and I got a great nights sleep.

Whatever you decide, have fun!

I also would recommend http://www.eastseven.de as one of the best hostels in berlin! I was there 4 days ago. It is located in a small street with no noise, espresso is the best i ever got and WiFi is free.
